Fall 2025 Woodworking Guild
Uncle Matt Helton will be in the back of the Parent Orientation Night on August 8th to share more with you and to answer any questions you have.
Aloha SBH Parents!
Matt Helton and fellow SBH parent is interested in having a homeschool group meet at his house once a month on Saturdays to do some woodworking projects. This is not an SBH program as it is not on the SBH campus or covered by our insurance. SBH is not liable for any student injuries that may occur. However, if as homeschool parents you’d like to participate together in this, SBH can facilitate the initial gathering.
WHO: Students must be at least 10 years old since we’ll be using hand saws and power tools. Initially only taking the first 6 students who RSVP first.
WHAT: Focus will be on carpentry skills and safe use of tools with three themes throughout the semester to include worship, beauty, and service. Guild will work on three projects with one initial meeting at Daybreak to discuss various projects in August and have the kids start drawing their ideas.
Theme of the guild this semester will be:
Worship (build a cross for their rooms/home)
Beauty (a wall cut out or picture frame)Service; candle holder for All Saints (or kneeler benches etc)
WHEN: Guild will meet once a month at Uncle Matt’s house since he has the tools etc.
COST: $100 for the Fall Semester (covers materials for three projects).
