SBH Board of Trustees

Fr Mark was one of the founding families to pioneer SBH in 2018, served as the headmaster for SBH’s first school year, has taught classes at SBH for four years, and has two children who attend SBH as students. He currently serves as the Dean of Culture at SBH, the SBH Chaplain, teaches two high school classes, and is the rector at All Saints Honolulu Anglican Church.

Chris, originally from the Midwest, has lived in Hawaii on and off for the past 11 years. He holds a Phd from Wheaton College, and has done additional studies at the University of Chicago Divinity School and the University of Oxford. He has taught at Northland International University, Cedarville University, and Trinity Christian School. He has written and co-written five books, as well as numerous articles and reviews. He is currently the Hawaii Site Coordinator for Bethlehem Seminary in partnership with Training Leaders International. He and his wife Katie have four boys: Luke, Simon, Elliot, and Noah. They are members at All Saints Honolulu where he is in the clergy discernment process.

Steven grew up in Pensacola, FL and attended the University of West Florida, receiving his bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2011. He joined the US Navy as a logistician in 2013 shortly before marrying his college sweetheart, Lea Hanna. Ten years later, they have three children: Henry, Graham, and Maisie. Henry has attended SBH since 2022.

They moved to Hawaii in 2021 and enjoy paddle boarding, playing at Ala Moana beach, and hosting friends and family in their home. Steven has recently completed his MBA from College of William & Mary and looks forward to more free time!

Dan Douglass was born and raised in Hawaii, and has a passion to see God’s Kingdom grow and mature in the islands through churches and schools. He attends Christ the Foundation Anglican Church, and serves on the CTF parish council. Dan currently serves as the Chair of the SBH Board.

Sierra and her family have been a part of the SBH community in some capacity since its foundation in 2018. Their oldest daughter started Kindergarten in 2023. Her and her husband were married at, and were regular attendees of, Christ the Foundation Anglican Church in 2016. They spent multiple years at CTF and in 2020 moved into Honolulu, where they currently attend All Saints.

The Miller Family has been part of the SBH Community since August 2021, and Nate joined the SBH Board in July 2022. Nate's wife, Kelly, is a SHB tutor and their two daughters attend the school. Nate joined the United States Marine Corps in 1999 and has served as both an enlisted Marine and a commissioned officer. Nate also serves on the Christ the Foundation Parish Council, and brings vast leadership experience to our school board.

Dcn Ben has been the SBH Program Director since 2019, and has been on the SBH school board since 2018. He is passionate about ministering to students and families in our classical Christian collaborative model.

Martha and her family have been at SBH since 2022. She studied history in college and worked for a dozen years or so as an investigator and analyst in the national security realm. Currently her and her husband run multiple businesses together and are living the island dream on a farm amidst the banana trees! Martha and Rob have two children, Isla and Samuel, who are both students at SBH. They attend Christ the Foundation Anglican Church.
