Volunteering at Saint Benedict Hall

Aloha Parents,

As we continue to grow at SBH it’s important that all of our parents are chipping in and helping wherever they can so that the load doesn’t fall to just a handful of parents.

This is also a great way to connect with other parents and be more involved in the life of the school.

Below is a list of opportunities you can get involved and help out throughout the year! Please make a note of which opportunities you are open and interested in finding out more about. Just because you indicate you are interested doesn’t commit you. I’ll follow up with a list of those parents who have expressed interest in each volunteer opportunity when the time comes to see who can commit.

Are you interested in volunteering at SBH as a substitute tutor to fill in occasionally when one of our tutors are out sick?

To become a SBH substitute tutor, you need to 1) be a part of the SBH community for at least 6 months, 2) complete a background check, and 3) do an online abuse training through Ministry Safe that takes about 1 hour.

Are you interested in helping at SBH with planning, organizing, or leading monthly excursions?

Are you interested in helping at SBH by supervising lunch and recess during SBH staff meetings?

Are you interested in helping at SBH as a scribe during the term exam weeks?

This entails writing down the verbal answers of students still too young to write for their exams.

Are you interested in helping at SBH by being a assistant coordinator for one of our main SBH annual events?

These would include events like: Parent Orientation Night, the Christmas Concert, May Day, Ho'oilina Fundraiser, etc.
