Excursion Info

Baby Makapu’u Tidepools Excursion

Tuesday, August 27th from 9:30-11:30am.

Lunch from 11:30am-noon.

Here are the details for the tidepool excursion:

  • We will meet at 9:30am at the Baby Makapu’u Tidepools. See map and directions at the bottom of this webpage. (Don’t be confused…there are two “Makapu’u Tidepools”: Baby Makapu’u Tidepools across from the Oceanic Institute, and the regular Makapu’u Tidepools which you have to hike to on the Sandy’s Beach side of Makapu’u point.)

  • Please bring beach wear and get ready to swim!

  • If you have a beach canopy, you are welcome to bring that and set up for shade for the little ones.

  • You are also welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy together.

  • Note: This is a public beach, so we’ll hope that not too many other groups are sharing the beach with us at the same time to make it overcrowded.

  • Like all our excursions, parents will need to be present during excursion unless you give express permission to another parent to be responsible and liable for your child. SBH as a program is not directly responsible for the safety or well being of students while on optional excursions due to our limited insurance coverage. However, we will of course all take care of each other and watch out for the kids together while we’re on these excursions!
