To the Kailua Baptist Church Leadership,

It’s been such a joy and delight to have a partnership relationship over the last several years! We’ve so appreciated your willingness to allow our program to occasionally use your facilities for things like our annual school board strategic planning meeting, staff Christmas party, and high school transcript training night. We’ve felt so welcomed and supported at KBC. Thank you!!

As we continue to listen to where the Lord may be leading us in the next few years, we have discerned a growing need for our unique kind of education here in Kailua. Our program provides a learning environment for homeschool families three days a week for families from 20 different churches across Oahu. This year we have 129 students enrolled in our program, and we are projecting to grow 4% next year (27/28 SY) and an additional 10% (28/29 SY) the following year.

We are excited how the Lord has blessed us, but we don’t know yet how He will go before us to provide space for our growing ministry. While we are planning to continue to partner with Daybreak for most of our classrooms, we are exploring having a second campus of 3-4 classrooms for our Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, and possibly 3rd Grade starting in August 2027.

The Saint Benedict Hall Board of Trustees has delegated a SBH Facilities Team as a sub-committee to begin conversations and explore options for a second campus. The SBH Facilities Team had our first meeting on August 24, 2026 to review our situation and options. The team would like to begin conversations with Kailua Baptist Church about a possible partnership and use of three classrooms spaces starting in August 2027.

It’s important to us that we partner with a church that we have shared ministry convictions and are in theological alignment. Unfortunately this severely limits our potential partnership with churches along Kailua Road’s “Church Row”. KBC is one of only a handful of churches we would feel comfortable partnering with in the area.

Daybreak sees SBH as a ministry partner, aligned in our convictions to give homeschool parents the gift of our educational model, and has kept our rent well below market value. That blessing is passed on to our parents who aren’t paying for high overhead for the operations of our program. SBH pays Daybreak $3,106.90 per classroom space per year. We are currently using 10 classroom spaces ($31,069 for the year). SBH could at least match this $3,106.90 per classroom space per year amount with KBC, and would be interested in knowing what it would take it make it work financially. Usage of the sanctuary and a storage room would also be helpful.

All our classroom usage is temporary each week— we set up all our classrooms on Monday morning and break down all our classrooms and reset the campus each Wednesday so that Daybreak can fully use all the campus when we aren’t there. All our “stuff” can fit into a single storage room Thursday-Sunday. We would be happy to have this kind of arrangement if were to be able to use the KBC facilities. And we would be more than happy to share the campus with other church or homeschool groups.

We also have made arrangement with Daybreak to hire a facilities cleaning crew that cleans all the space that SBH uses at Daybreak each week. We would also be happy to this kind of arrangement at KBC. In addition, we have general liability insurance at Daybreak and would assume all the costs of getting the requisite insurance for KBC.

We are interested in beginning this conversation to explore the possibility of renting from KBC starting in August 2027, with the understanding that it will likely take months, as you determine availability and feasibility. But we wanted to begin the conversation sooner than later.
