SBH Dual Credit Program
Saint Benedict Hall is excited to offer dual credit classes through a partnership with Christian Halls International. Selected courses will be offered on site at the Daybreak campus with a live tutor and high school students will receive credit from our fully accredited partner university Southeastern University.
High School students will be able to earn college credit through SEU that will be fully transferable to other colleges.
After our initial pilot program for the 2026-27 school year, we hope to expand our dual credit options in the following years, and eventually (5-10 years) SBH students could even earn a full Associates of Arts Degree through Christian Halls.
How does it work?
Parents will need to complete the form below to indicate which classes they would like to enroll in by May 1st, 2026. An email will be sent to the parents or student (whichever email you’d prefer) to apply to SEU as a dual enrollment student through Christian Halls International for the courses you sign up for.
The cost for each semester of a dual enrollment 3 credit class is $300. This cost will be added to your regular SBH Program Dues ($5,290). These funds will be collected by SBH and then paid to SEU. Your students will then have a SEU student account, and will then be able to access their college transcript through SEU upon completion of the class. They can then request their SEU transcript be sent to any other college to transfer the credit to apply toward a different degree.
All classes will be incorporated into the SBH schedule for SBH students. The science classes will take place in the Form 5 Science block, and the Latin classes will take place in the Latin 2 block. Kelly Maunakea-Payne will likely be tutoring the Form 5 science classes, and Deacon Ben Moore will likely be tutoring the Latin classes. All required texts will be purchased by SBH, but any optional texts will be parents responsibility to purchase if desired. These SEU classes are originally designed for an intensive 8 week term, however when taken at SBH we will slow this down and stretch the content over the 16 weeks of our semesters.
Students will have the support and accountability of the SBH structure, community, and tutors, but will ultimately be responsible for submitting all their assessments directly to SEU. A professor of record at SEU will be responsible for giving the students their final grade for the class. Another way of understanding this, is that our high school students will be taking college online classes, but doing it together with their SBH classmates and SBH tutors to get the benefits of class discussion and accountability.
If Form 5 students choose to take all 4 classes offered, they will receive 12 college credits (for an extra $1,200): 6 Science college credits and 6 Language college credits to transfer to any college in their freshman year.
Other students who are enrolled in Form 5 Science and Advanced Latin 2, but choose not to enroll in the dual enrollment program, will be taking the same course work to complete high school credit, but will not receive college credit.
