Art Class from Cheri Firth
WHAT: Kindergarten-Sixth Grade “Elements of Art: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space”
Semester 1: Week of September 6 thru December 13
Semester 1 has 12 art classes @ $20/class = $240
*NOTE: We have a parent volunteer who has offered to watch Kindergarteners through Math Study on Wednesday so they can participate in this class.
Aloha SBH Parents,
Thank you for your interest in my SBH After-school Art Class! My name is Cheri Firth and I have my B.F.A. degree in painting and drawing, along with numerous master classes in printmaking. I have taught at a private, classical Christian school for over 22 years. Fun fact: Jessica Fant and Bianca Wentworth were elementary students of mine, way back in the day! Also, Fr. Mark Brians, Ashley Dart, Jessica and Jonathan Fant, Martha Burns, and Deacon Ben Moore were my colleagues years ago. I really adore this community and look forward to being creative with your young ones!
Last year our SBH after-school art class was a great success for both the students and myself.
Our art class this year will be held immediately after school on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm. Children will not need a potty or a snack break as they will have just finished their study-hall.
Our artists will be exploring the Elements of Art which includes: line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space
We will dabble in both wet and dry mediums: drawing, painting, clay, collage, and printmaking
I will be teaching basic color theory by way of color palette selection: primary, secondary, warm, cool, neutrals and values
Each project will last approximately three to four weeks
It is my dream to cultivate in your child a love for those things beautiful. It is my hope that your child’s creativity will flourish while being undergirded with a solid art foundation.

WHO: Your creative child/children
WHAT: Explore and create art work by utilizing: Elements of art + various mediums + classic color palettes = personal compositions
WHEN: Wednesdays 2:30-3:30pm
WHERE: Daybreak Church in the Mango Room
HOW: Straight from study hall to art room; I supply all the art materials!
WHY: It is good to create and enjoy the beauty of our Lord’s creation!
HOW MUCH: 12 classes for $240
